Born and raised in Log Island, John Brooks has spent his entire life giving back to his community. For more 45 years, John served as a volunteer firefighter, as well as becoming Seaford’s Chief of Department. Now, in the State Senate, John’s public service includes taking on the corruption in Albany and delivering real results for Long Island families.
As our State Senator, John is:
COMBATING CORRUPTION FROM LONG ISLAND TO ALBANY: John Brooks sponsored legislation to prohibit the use of campaign funds for criminal defense when under federal criminal indictment.
GIVING LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT THE TOOLS THEY NEED to combat the violent gang MS-13 and to keep kids from falling into a life of crime.
LONG ISLAND’S TAX RELIEF CHAMPION: John kept his promise to never raise taxes and voted AGAINST 86 different tax hikes. John released a widely-praised property tax relief plan to save the average Long Island resident at least $1,000 annually on their property taxes.
STANDING UP TO THE NRA for common-sense gun reform by sponsoring legislation to ban bump stocks, pass more effective background checks, and keep guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals.
PROTECTING THE SOUTH SHORE AND THE ENVIRONMENT: John fought for the desperately needed relief for Sandy victims and challenged the federal government’s tone-deaf plan to drill for oil off the shores of Long Island.
On November 6, vote to re-elect John Brooks to the State Senate!
