District Attorney Darcel Clark is committed to serving the people of the Bronx. Since her election, Darcel has been a strong advocate for working with local authorities and anti-violence groups to continue lowering the disproportionately high rates of murders, robberies, assaults, and shootings in the Bronx community.
Darcel has also prioritized combating the opioid crisis facing our city. She was instrumental in the implementation of the Overdose Avoidance and Recovery Program (OAR), which allows users to seek help without being convicted of a crime without softening the city’s stance on prosecuting drug traffickers.
While simultaneously fighting crime and addiction in the Bronx, Darcel has also helped to improve community outreach by hosting “Another Chance” events to get rid of old warrants. Her office has single-handedly dismissed more than 160,000 warrants from over the past 10 years, and the initiative has allowed people to move forward with their lives, free of near-decade old limitations stemming from non-violent offenses.
Darcel’s work and commitment to the Bronx exemplifies justice and integrity. She has been on the forefront of the anti-violence initiative, pushing common-sense criminal justice reform by utilizing procedures to make cases more efficient while improving the lives of the people in the Bronx.
