As a mother, educator and community leader, Christine Pellegrino understands the challenges facing Long Island’s families. She spent 18 years as an elementary school reading teacher, and has been a passionate advocate for our children. Christine organized against standardization that harms our children and has been fighting for funding for education funding from Albany to invest in Long Island schools.

In the Assembly, Christine has been:

FIGHTING FOR STRONGER SCHOOLS. As an elementary school reading teacher for twenty-five years and a mother of two daughters in middle school, Christine cares passionately about the fight for local control over our schools. As a leader in the opt-out movement, she has stood up against standardized testing that is hurting our children and weakens our say in their future.

PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT. Our water supply is critical to our health and to our property values. That’s why Christine is fighting for the resources from Albany to clean up the toxins that threaten our drinking water and make sure polluters are not poisoning our families.

WORKING TO END CORRUPTION IN ALBANY. Christine is taking on the corruption in both parties and standing up to the political leaders who are abusing the public trust to line their own pockets.
